Over the next few posts I've decided to do a bit of a theme. Whether you rent alone, with a partner or flat share with friends, the one room that's yours, is your bedroom. It's also an easy room to personalize. Over the next seven days I'll be looking at different areas & some basic ideas on what to do with, walls, beds & linens, other soft furnishings, storage & lighting.
Because your bedroom is, in most cases, a very private space, I like to think there are no rules when it comes to style. Other parts of the house may be shared, multifunctional, more public spaces, but behind closed doors, decorate & accessorize in whatever way makes you happy. Your bedroom is the first thing you see when you wake up & the last thing you see at the end of the day, neither are going to go well if you hate the space you sleep in. Even if you are stuck with your landlords furniture, there are ways to make it work for you.
My dream bedroom is still a work in progress... but this is a pretty good idea of where I want to spend my eight hours a night...

My idea of an amazing bedroom is something along the lines of opulent hotel-chic & always involves crisp white 300 count Egyptian cotton sheets (more on that later) whatever your taste though, I think there are some basic elements that you can adapt to your preferred taste & style & you really can't go wrong.
Next up, the most important part of your bedroom... the bed (and the sheets!)
