retail is detail - autumn/winter at the V&A

I might be more than slightly biased, but the new autumn/winter offerings from the V&A shop are amazing... Their website has some great exclusives, but remember that the shop is stunning and lots of new things will be in store from mid September too. I've picked out a few of my favourite home ware things to share with you.

First up, and the whole reason this particular post came in to being, these gorgeous ceramic door knob hooks.

Set of 3 Ceramic Hooks web only £25

Perfect if you love a bit of period detailing & don't have any original features in your home. Hung together they also make a great little installation all by themselves, regardless of whether they have anything hanging on them. You could put them up with command micro Hooks, so easy to install too and at £25 for the set of three, they're a bit of a bargain too.

From the vast array of prints available, this one is my favourite.

Print by Stephen Kenny £25

I'm a complete sucker for a beautiful type face. These are signed, numbered and limited to an edition of 250, hand printed by Stephen Kenny from A Two Pipe Problem. Have a look at his blog here & take a look at the rest of his amazing work.

Next up a tea towel by Sarah Young also available in Marmaduke the Cat, Bertha & Oswald the Owl. It can be used as a tea towel, framed, or you can cut out the chatterers and stuff with kapok or similar to make a cushion, doorstop, toy or ornament. Brilliant Idea and executed in gorgeous colours & patterns. A winner all round and also a great gift idea.

Felix Tea Towel £12

This is so sweet and clever... especially of you serve tea to a guest & don't tell them! Also avialable in hidden Owl, Fox, the Bear is my favourite, although obviously I'd like all three.

Hidden Bear Teacup web only £18

Lastly, an ethical alternative to the trophy/taxidermy trend. The fellow is self assembly, so not only does he look stunning, you can have fun putting him together. Also available in small & very large sizes, he's lightweight & easy to hang with command hooks.

Medium Blue Floral Stag Head £35
