Could it be that good old British institution M&S are the most underrated purveyors of contemporary home ware? Last season saw them collaborate with top Designers Terence Conran AND Marcel Wenders. Both collections were stunning, but they've really outdone themselves this season with Wenders' new range, which includes personal accessories and luggage as well as home ware. He's designed table ware with pops of concentric coloured circles, damask like patterns on luggage and towels, shiny opulent ice buckets, crisp classic martini glasses and jewellery as well as embossed leather goods. If you're purchasing an item as a gift, there's even a range of gift wrap, boxes and cards to add.
The great thing about a collaboration like this, is that you get great designer pieces, backed my M&S quality and all at a ridiculously affordable price. These are my favourites from the range, perfect for adding a bit of luxury to your rented pad:
1. Sporting a classic Wenders profile, this vase looks good enough on it's own, but will look even better filled with some opulent large blooms such as blue Hydrangeas or dusky pink Peonies. This large urn is £59 but it also comes in small for £35.
2. Graphic wire silhouettes are bang on trend right now and Wenders features two designs in two sizes for this collection. I love this Tower Hurricane Candle Holder for £29.50 (also available in small for £19.50) Also checkout these Hurricane Lamps also available in two sizes.
3. This Cocktail Shaker is so sculptural and elegant it deserves to be left on display when not in use. A gorgeous pice of design that looks much more expensive than its modest £19.50 price tag. Great for fruity summer cocktails or a classic martini in winter, team with one of his Martini Glasses at just £7.50.
