shop talk - Rockett St George

I've decided to start posting a regular themed post called 'shop talk' where I want to highlight a favourite shop or a range within a shop. The idea came to me when I got a copy of Rockett St Georges 'Little Black Book - Volume one' through my door last week. I've been a fan of their range for a long time and have featured several pieces before but being a sucker for the printed page and seeing all their lovely things styled and photographed in such an inspiring way made me want to highlight more of what they offer.

The online company was founded by Jane Rockett and Lucy St George and specializes in eclectic British design with many unusual and handmade pieces. They stock large pieces of furniture as well as home accessories, jewellery and gift lines, perfect for treating yourself, your home or someone else. This is the pick of the my favourite 10 items from the catalogue range, suitable for renters of course!

This collection of units is so versatile it's perfect for renters. It will fit a variety of spaces and can be used in different rooms either all together or stacked in groups. A great home for your books or to show off some treasured items.

Worth the investment, these metal shelves will stand the test of time no matter how often you move. Again, they can be re purposed in different rooms and would make a striking addition to any kitchen, office or bedroom.

3. Black Candelabra With Candles £39
If you're looking for a bold and dramatic centrepiece you can't go wrong with this candelabra, even better value given that the candles are included!

This lamp is just such great value. It's traditional shape and neutral palette will work in most rooms and I love the addition of the little bone china bird (sold separately, £12.50)

This could double up as a floor cushion if you need an extra seat for guests, so much more interesting than your usual square variety...

Another hardworking, durable piece of furniture that suits a variety of uses! If you have the space it would also make a great bathroom/medicine cabinet.

I've featured this table before but I like it so much I'm going to sing it's praises again! Great if you are really pushed for space as it does 3 jobs in one and would make an excellent bedside table too, with space to stash your favorite reading material.

8. Melamine Cups, White £2.50
These look much more expensive than they are. Classic shape, great for your morning juice and durable enough to go outside too. Sometimes you just can't beat perfect simplicity.

9. Giant Growth Chart £145
Even if you don't have kids, hang this on a Command Hook for some unusual wall decoration. I think it would look best in a narrow alcove or down the side of a door frame.

The whole set is a modern classic but I do like the shampoo and soap caddy, perfect for hiding less than stylish packaging on your shampoo bottle.

You can see the full catalogue (and shop it!) on line here... or sign up for your own beautiful paper copy here.

Many thanks to Sophie at Rockett St George for permission to reproduce pages from the catalogue. Please read my disclosure statement on my about page here.
